Bougres d'ânes, it's nine
donkeys, but our small family too : the parents , Céline
and Sandy, and the children Jean and Louis.
We started renting donkeys and growing biological vegetables
in 2001 in south Burgundy in a land called Brionnais.
This region is accessible to a wide public of walkers, notably
families with young children because the made uneven are sweet.
Correspondigly to the FNAR 's charter, we do our best to give
you your best holidays'memories ; for that, all our hike have
been tracking down by us and you will hike most of times on
paths.
Our donkeys are kind and docile because we educate them respectfully
and with patience. They're professionnal of the hike.

Country of the green gold with his hilly
meadows, Brionnais is a land of culture and history that we want
to make you discover.
Sky is always light. We only think about
going to the horizon, but the slightest bend leads to the unforeseen.
We dive suddenly into a small hollow which opens, then in the
other one, then in the third. Paths draw languishing laces through
the feed. They take off mostly between two hedges or two stony
low walls beyond which runs away the glance.
Here, any tired soul finds its breath,
the peace. The green wins and eats the space, a raw, dense, unforgettable
green!

We propose you two very bucolic
days. Indeed, you will take the towpaths of the canal of Roanne
from Digoin, the paths close to the Loire and if you know how
to be attentive, you can discover all the fauna and the flora
which lives there; so will meet can you be a wasp's nest during
its migration towards South Africa or a family of storks with
edge of the Loire. Hide you to observe the skillful kingfisher
feasting small fishes! |

The circuit which you will take
is situated on a classified zone Natura 2000. Natura 2000 groups
together natural sites, through all Europe, identified for the
rarity or the fragility of the wild, animal or vegetable sorts
and of their environments. |

Walking in plain of the Loire is
accessible to every public, even to the persons being little
in the habit of walking, because the circuit is flat almost always!
This hike is particularly adapted to the hike for families with
very young children. |

You will leave
by the towpaths of the canal of Roanne to Digoin, who will lead
you up to our bocage. The intense green of the bocage, the luminosity
of fair stones and clay of the red roofs of our farms, will compose
for you an unforgettable picture.
You will visit Semur in Brionnais, one of the most beautiful
villages of France, pulled over its spur. The small houses in
the red roofs still mass in the shade of the old towers of the
most ancient Romanic castle of Burgundy, under the friendly glance
of the collegiate church which reminds the past magnificence
of this ancient capital of part of the country.
You will also go to meet the other leaders of Works of the Romanesque
art as the churches of Iguerande, Holy Julien de Jonzy and Varennes
the Arconce, but also of treasures hidden as one of these small
churches and chapels lost in bend of paths. |

For those who will have the luck to pass to
Saint Christophe in Brionnais Wednesday at the beginning of the
after noon, you can go to the cattle market, old of more than
500 years ( guaranteed local atmosphere). And if you arrive at
about 4 am, you can sample for the snack a good steak, a «
pot au feu », or the « tripes », as it you
to plair
These hikes are very natural circuits and
offer an exceptional peace; you will sometimes meet there however
some ancient walkers who will be delighted to speak to you about
the country
But for those who sometimes wish to meet
themselves on "civilized" ground, we allow you to pay
some interesting visits: castles, museums, creative craftsmen,
educational farm and gardens to be visited : to you to choose!
We suggest you discovering this magnificent
region, but also meeting warm people of this country on hikes
from two to ten days. Together with our donkeys, then take time
to look, to converse, to rummage in this protected but alive
nature to understand that is Brionnais, perched above the Loire
valley.

FROM TWO TO SEVEN DAYS IN STAR FROM THE SHELTER « DU COQ
A L'ÂNE » : |

| For those of
you who wishes to make a quieter stay, we propose you hikes in
star (you sleep every evening in the same place) from Françoise's
shelter, shelter « du coq à l'âne ».
It's an ancient renewed goatfold, ideal to receive one or two
families. Completely equipped (cook, fridge, washer), you can
be completely autonomous or then be spoiled by the hostess who
proposes you, breakfast, pic nic and supper. The sight on the
hills of Brionnais is there absolutely fabulous |

You are here
in a mini farm: hens, asses, rabbits, guinea pigs, cats, dogs.
Do not worry you, Françoise will invite the children in
the morning to the collection of eggs and to the caress of donkeys
and rabbits for their biggest pleasure. And she will know how
to close eyes when they will go to pick in the field of red fruits
which is behind the shelter.
The children give generally 20/20 to this accommodation and the
adults feel so quiet there. |

| Hikes from 5
to 20 km which we propose you around the shelter shall allow
you to discover the washhouses of the region, the village of
Semur in Brionnais, the small hidden ponds and especially to
cross the tunnel of the lovers or to admire the « inseparable
», an oak and an ash tree interwined for the life. |

HIKES ACCORDING TO YOU
Vous want to mix circuits in touring
and in star to take one or several days of rest during your hikes,
you wish to make shorter stages than those foreseen, or you want
to leave more than a week for hike, we shall make everything
to answer exactly your waits : for it contact we as soon as possible
! |

BEFORE THE START
The technical informations of the
hikes give you the advices of preparation of your hike, describe
circuits and accommodations and inform you about various price
lists. They can be sent to you by internet or by mail. One or
several possible accommodations every evening are proposed to
you in the technical documents, to you to choose your formula.
The accommodations were selected according to their comfort,
the quality of their reception, and the quality of the room(chamber)
for the donkey !
AT THE START
We welcome you between 17 and 18
o'clock the day before your hike to take time to present you
to your future travelling companions. We shall study then circuits
with you in front of a small glass of welcome, to give you all
the advices and the good plans of every day (when drink a glass,
which to visit, where to rest).
You can then arrive the next day at about 9 am for a session
about 1:30 am when we how explain you to take care, to equip
and to lead your donkey. For those who could not come the day
before, it's not serious we shall make all in the morning of
your departure, then think of arriving early.
Donkeys are loaded with in 40 kilos maximum (an ass for 3 to
4 persons)
An IGN map with the plan of the circuit, an extremely detailed
roadbook and a part " how to drive an donkey in hike "
will be supplied to you at first.

| BOUGRES D'ÂNES is situated
in south Burgundy, in the department of the Saône et Loire.
By the road, Bougres d'ânes is situated at 9 hours in the
South of London, 7 hours in the South of Brugge and of Brussels,
3 hours on the West of Geneva, 4 hours in the South of Paris,
2 hours in the western South of Dijon, 1:30 hour in the western
North of Lyon, 1:30 hour in the western South of Chalon on saône,
1 hour on the West of Macon and 20 mn in north of Roanne. |
Bougres d'ânes est situé

By road : Bougres d'ânes est situé à
9h au sud de Londres, 7h au sud de Brugge et de Bruxelles, 3

The Saône and the Loire is served by highways, A6, A39,
A40 and by the main road Centres Atlantic Europe.
By train : (information SNCF : 08 92 35 35 35):
If you come from the North, you can take the TGV up to
the station TGV of Le Creusot Montchanin (at 1:30 am of Paris)
or the train to arrive at the station of Roanne if you do not
wish to take the TGV; to these two stations you can take a bus
which will take you up to the village of Saint Martin du Lac
(1 hour of Creusot and 30 mn from Roanne) in 10 km from our home
where we shall come to look for you (phone number of the company

If you come from the South, you have to go to the station
of Roanne where you will take the bus until Saint martin du lac
